The story of the Kaspar companies begins in the late 1890's, when barbed wire came to Texas. When the smooth wire it replaced was discarded as worthless, August Kaspar began to make twisted wire baskets for himself and his neighbors to carry hay and corn shucks. From this humble beginning, Kaspar Wire Works was born.
Almost 100 years later, the companies are still owned and managed by the Kaspar family. Today, our companies provide hundreds of products made from wire, sheetmetal, and plastics for companies and individuals all over the world. Our customers range in size from Fortune 100 corporations to one-man shows. Because many of our operations are still performed by hand, we provide old-world craftsmanship and the personal touch to even the most modern technologies.

Our staff includes dedicated factory personnel, skilled craftsmen,
experienced supervisors and managers, professional designers, and
a management team that is second-to-none. Hundreds of accumulated
years of manufacturing experience in all types of metal forming and
finishing processes can be applied to building the highest quality
products available in the world today.
Over the years, many of our customers and friends taken the time to visit
us in our hometown of Shiner, Texas. We've never heard any complaints
about our quaint, small-town atmosphere and the friendly reception
visitors receive at the local shops and restaurants. But, don't take our
word for it .... come visit us and see for yourself!
Our factory is located in Shiner, Texas -- about half-way between Houston and San Antonio at the intersections of Highways 95 and 90-A in South-Central Texas. With a population of only 2000 people, Shiner's small town life has been protected from many of the modern influences of malls, strip shopping centers, and fast-food restaurants. Hard work and good humor are characteristic of the many descendants of Czech, German, and other European immigrants who make their home in Shiner. Friday night high school football, Little League baseball, church picnics, and various community service and school activities are the main sources of entertainment here.
Maps and driving directions to Shiner from nearby major cities (Houston, San Antonio, and Austin) can be viewed and printed from the Internet. Select this link to jump to that page now.
